NEW WORK by JOHN GOOCH – LANDSCAPES
John is based in Cardiff, born in 1953, he studied Fine Art at Hornsey and Middlesex Polytechnic. Rediscovering the vision and the joy of painting, he expresses his elation and appreciation of landscape, the seasons, it’s colours, his existence in it.
Drawing on sketches, studies and photographs but mainly his retained memory of a particular place, each picture is a blend of description and emotion. Some are painted on situ, some in the studio but always true to the place.
The gift of sight and the magic of colour are to be treasured. From Gauguin, Bonnard, Nolde, and to Sargy Mann, all members of the Order of the Joy of Colour, a colour filled world. His work is about that vivacity, his aim is to be such a celebrant.
He has exhibited in France, in Aix en Provence, with Denise Yapp Contemporary Art, at the L’Artishe Gallery in Dorset and at The Roper Gallery, (B.A.S.) in Bath.
